The existing secondary school will be reorganized in some areas within the existing rooms. Both schools will have assembly halls for 400 visitors each. The building is planned as an energy efficiency house plus in wood-hybrid construction. The green roof areas will be fully covered with photovoltaic systems.    <\/p>\n<p>The basic division of functions is into secondary school, grammar school, sports and special purpose association. The school functions are lined up along the eastern property line. The secondary school continues to the north of the existing building, the grammar school to the south. To the west, in direct proximity to the existing sports facilities, the sports facilities will be built. The two structures of the grammar school are internally structured via a north-south thoroughfare. It is lined on one side by the specialist classrooms, which are thus available to the adjacent learning centers on the opposite side via a short route. In the learning centers, the classrooms are arranged by year around central learning landscapes.      <\/p>\n<p>The functions of the secondary school are also lined up along a thoroughfare. Analogous to the grammar school, the specialist classrooms should line one side of the thoroughfare, and the classrooms, teachers&#8217; rooms and library are arranged around the atriums. The cafeteria is located on the ground floor, &#8220;independently&#8221; and arranged between the break halls. It faces the forecourt and is therefore easy to find for external events. The sports hall is partially buried. The access to the sports hall, like the associated changing rooms, is located in the basement. The swimming pool is accessed via the changing and shower rooms on the ground floor. The central organization of the changing rooms enables access from both sides, separated according to internal and external users.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><div class=\"w-separator size_custom\" style=\"height:3rem\"><\/div><h5 class=\"w-text us_custom_7f5cd28b has_text_color\"><span class=\"w-text-h\"><span class=\"w-text-value\">Construction:<\/span><\/span><\/h5><div class=\"wpb_text_column\"><div class=\"wpb_wrapper\"><p>The building will be constructed using wood-concrete composite construction. The escape stairwells and the cores will be constructed using conventional steel concrete construction. Other rooms and corridors will be constructed using modular construction. The modules will be constructed in hybrid construction (concrete ceilings on joists) to improve storage capacities. In the area of the passage and the arcades as well as in the area of the secondary school break hall, the module structure is built on a so-called &#8220;table&#8221; made of reinforced concrete.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><div class=\"w-separator size_custom\" style=\"height:2rem\"><\/div><h5 class=\"w-text us_custom_7f5cd28b has_text_color\"><span class=\"w-text-h\"><span class=\"w-text-value\">Economic efficiency and sustainability<\/span><\/span><\/h5><div class=\"wpb_text_column\"><div class=\"wpb_wrapper\"><p>The use of wooden modular construction enables an economical and resource-saving implementation of the project. Due to the properties of wood, considerable weight and material can be saved compared to reinforced concrete. CO2 is bound in the building through the use of wood. The module dimensions also contribute to an excellent GFA\/GIA ratio. This means that lower maintenance costs can also be expected.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><div class=\"w-separator size_custom\" style=\"height:2rem\"><\/div><h5 class=\"w-text us_custom_7f5cd28b has_text_color\"><span class=\"w-text-h\"><span class=\"w-text-value\">Fire protection<\/span><\/span><\/h5><div class=\"wpb_text_column\"><div class=\"wpb_wrapper\"><p>The buildings are classified in building class 3 because the highest habitable room is on average no higher than 7 m in relation to the top edge of the terrain. As a result, there are lower requirements for the fire resistance period and materiality of the construction and facade. The first escape route from all habitable rooms is via the escape balconies. The second escape route is via one of the two central &#8220;stairs&#8221; (analogous to the model school construction ordinance, escape route via &#8220;hall&#8221;, or the principle of an extended stairwell)<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><div class=\"w-separator size_custom\" style=\"height:2rem\"><\/div><h5 class=\"w-text us_custom_7f5cd28b has_text_color\"><span class=\"w-text-h\"><span class=\"w-text-value\">3D planning, BIM<\/span><\/span><\/h5><div class=\"wpb_text_column\"><div class=\"wpb_wrapper\"><p>BIM planning was carried out using an integrated 3D building model. (including building services for S&amp;D planning). The data exchange with the specialist planners took place via a pre-agreed IFC interface.  <\/p>\n<p>The quantity surveying for the cost calculation and later for the service specifications was carried out automatically via our interface to the AVA program.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><div class=\"w-separator size_custom\" style=\"height:2rem\"><\/div><h5 class=\"w-text us_custom_7f5cd28b has_text_color\"><span class=\"w-text-h\"><span class=\"w-text-value\">Energy concept<\/span><\/span><\/h5><div class=\"wpb_text_column\"><div class=\"wpb_wrapper\"><p>An energy efficiency house plus is being aimed for. The component structures correspond to a KFW 40 efficiency house. The heat generation for heating and hot water for the grammar school, secondary school, sports and swimming hall and the special purpose association is generally provided via the municipal supply network. The roofs are equipped with a photovoltaic system (&gt;100kWp). A buffer storage for the use of excess electricity from the PV system and thus pre-tempering of heating water is integrated into the system.    <\/p>\n<p>The lighting is provided by LED technology. The maximum lighting time is limited to one or two lessons via time switches. Furthermore, the classrooms and the essential functional rooms are equipped with low-temperature ceiling heating in the form of heating and cooling radiant ceilings. Cooling is carried out by connecting the hydraulic system to the planned groundwater use and thus by using natural resources. All habitable rooms are ventilated via central ventilation units. The air is blown into the ceiling cavity between the heating-cooling radiant ceilings and the concrete ceiling. As a result, the storage masses of the ceilings are &#8220;tapped&#8221;, and the air is heated or cooled depending on the situation before it flows into the room. In summer, the cool night air is blown into the building via the ventilation systems by means of night flushing.
