We try to reduce our CO2 footprint as much as possible through environmentally friendly energy concepts. For example, we purchase green electricity and thus save 855 tons of greenhouse gas emissions. At the same time, we generate electrical energy from the woody biomass we produce: our LiPRO wood-fired combined heat and power plant is an innovative renewable energy conversion plant that converts woody biomass into a product or fuel gas. The biomass used is transformed into fuel gas in a multi-stage thermochemical process at the wood gas plant. The resulting synthesis gas is then converted into mechanical and thermal energy via the LiPRO combined heat and power plant (CHP), with the mechanical energy being further converted into electrical energy by a generator.

But that’s not all: with the installation of a new firing system from the manufacturer Endress, the required total output could be reduced by over 50 %. The consumption of fuel and also the emission of pollutants could be significantly reduced with this system. The new heating system is fueled exclusively with shavings and wood residues that accumulate as waste during production. This is how we make our heat supply absolutely climate-neutral.

Thanks to the new filter system for dust and chip extraction with seven elements of the vacuum filter, we were able to achieve 100% dust-tightness in the entire system as well as energy efficiency and a lower risk of fire. This means 100% protection for people and the environment.

Another special investment was a 4-way electric forklift from Combilift. Where previously two industrial trucks with an internal combustion engine were required, now only one with a quiet electric motor drives.
